The Mobile Installation Technician is responsible for the installation, trouble shooting, updating and expertise of On-Board Computing Systems (OBC). The incumbent will travel to multiple facilities across Casella’s operating footprint to service and install OBC’s throughout Casella’s fleet.
50-75% overnight travel required. Work schedule will be 2 consecutive weeks onsite followed by 1 week of time off.
The successful candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent and a demonstrated ability to install and troubleshoot computers and electronics. A valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, an ability and willingness to travel throughout the company footprint 75% of the time with overnight travel, and possession of necessary installation tools are essential.
Effective listening and problem-solving skills, discipline when developing and executing action plans, ability to identify and develop training opportunities, strong understanding of automotive electrical systems and demonstrated proficiency with MS Office 365 applications are required.
Although not required, a degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems or other related field, relevant computer and automotive certifications, 1-2 years in commercial vehicle maintenance or electronic installation experience and background knowledge or interest in electronic installation and maintenance are preferred.
Adaptable, team-oriented individual who possesses knowledge of mobile electronics installation and an ability to see the larger picture. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving and communication skills combined with a passion for technology is essential.
