Position Summary

The Landfill Operations Supervisor is responsible for is responsible for overseeing the Landfill to ensure that safety is at the forefront of all operations, provides opportunity for any improvement in processes for both Casella and the customer, and encourages employees to progress in their careers.

 

 

Salary Range: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees all matters related to the landfill operations to initiate effective safety and accident prevention programs.
  • Coordinates operational activities with associated departments to maximize customer satisfaction and proper equipment use.
  • Establishes and maintains a high level or professionalism in the area of facility management in order to coordinate and cross-train employees including Equipment Operators
  • Complies with all applicable and relevant Federal, State and company Environmental and Risk management Policies and Procedures.
  • Resolves problematic service requests or incidents to provide service that exceeds customer expectations.
  • Establishes productivity goals when necessary to ensure operations are adhering to safety standards as well as managing labor hours and disposals per agreed-upon plans.
  • Creates an environment to encourage collaboration and communicative team engagement.
  • Builds and develops team members to help them reach individual goals as well as create a pipeline for advancement within Casella.
  • Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company and its products and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values.

Education, Experience & Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, 1-3 years experience in landfill construction, a minimum of 1 year of lead or supervisory experience, a minimum of 6 months of equipment operation experience, and be legally eligible to work in the US. A demonstrated ability to work as part of a ream in a collaborative environment and a commitment to workplace safety is necessary. An interest in an environmental and/or sustainability field are preferred.

 

Outstanding relationship management skills, excellent listening, communication, and problem solving skills are required. An ability to teach and train others, and a demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications are expected.
