The analyst will develop a comprehensive understanding of Casella’s customer types, billing cycles, and invoice delivery methods to efficiently generate and submit invoices. Additionally, this role supports the Manager of Billing & Data Integrity by identifying and correcting billing issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and performing analyses related to customer billing, collections, and accounts receivable.

Billing Analyst I (1-3 years).
Role: Develops foundational knowledge of business flow and billing schedules for assigned systems. Effectively generates invoices with accuracy under direct supervision while building expertise.
Qualifications: Associate degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent experience. Demonstrates basic knowledge of billing systems and processes.
Billing Analyst II (3-5 years):
Role: Demonstrates thorough understanding of all billing systems and the business needs of stakeholders. Independently runs accurate billing cycles and actively contributes to improving systems and processes.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Significant knowledge and ability to manage billing cycles for assigned areas without supervision.
Senior Billing Analyst (5+ years):
Role: Operates independently across all billing systems, ensuring seamless and accurate execution of billing processes. Trains new team members, leads system migrations, and integrates acquisition customer data.
Qualifications: Demonstrated expertise in billing and accounting. Strong leadership skills and ability to handle complex system integrations and optimizations.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related field, 3-4 years of experience in billing management, ideally in a utility or field services business, a strong knowledge of billing systems, data management tools and financial sofware are a must. Experience in acquisition integration, demonstrating successful incorporation of billing processes post-merger or acquisition and a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment and be legally eligible to work in the US. Experience or interest in an environmental and/or sustainability field is preferred.
Exceptional relationship management skills and excellent listening, communication, and problem solving skills are required. An ability to identify and develop new solutions and proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications are preferred.
