Position Summary

The Sourcing Analyst for Hazardous Waste is responsible for evaluating and optimizing the Vendor Network to ensure coverage for regular waste and recycling services and Hazardous Waste services; as well as providing technical support and expertise to the other Strategic Account Services (SAS) Teams, the Vendor Relations Team (VR Team) and the Account Manager Team (AM Team).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides expertise for sourcing Hazardous Waste Vendors and regular waste and recycling vendors nationwide.
  • Establishes effective communication channels with customers, vendors, suppliers, and shipping companies.
  • Working knowledge of Strategic sourcing agreements and strategy to negotiate better pricing and service.
  • Negotiates terms, volume discounts, and long-term contracts with vendors for the services to meet desired outcomes, while maintaining integrity and ethical relationships.
  • Responds to requests for support from Account Managers on both vendor sourcing and Hazardous Waste vendor sourcing for internal and external customers in a timely manner.
  • Manages the resolution of challenges with vendors and is responsible for negotiating rebates.
  • Supports the development and implementation of strategic initiatives and process improvements related to Hazardous Waste with guidance from the Strategic Sourcing Manager.
  • Creates bid packages and performs bid analysis, reviews findings, and makes recommendations with assistance from Account Managers.
  • Utilizes knowledge of the sourcing field to manage resources, prioritize tasks, guide workflows, provide guidance to team members, and adheres to project deadlines and time constraints to ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values.
  • Ensures compliance with all company, state, and federal policies, regulations and laws regarding employment and employee safety.

Education, Experience & Qualifications

Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, Solid listening, verbal, and written communication skills, Experience in strategic sourcing and evaluating procurement metrics, Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office and related platforms, Minimum of 3 years of hazardous waste management experience, 3-5 years’ experience in vendor relations, Bachelor’s Degree or 6+ years of progressive experience in hazardous waste or vendor relations and Legally eligible to work in the US.
