Position Summary

The Financial Analyst provides advanced financial support and conducts high-level analysis of revenue, credit expenses, and overhead, while working with regional leadership to make decisions about expense management, and provide accurate and data-based information on our profitability. The incumbent will provide regional support including basic journal preparation, account reconciliations, and monthly and quarterly tracking and reporting.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs basic month-end, regional level journal entries and account reconciliations.  
  • Prepares month-end reporting and contributes to quarter-end and annual audit analysis and reporting. 
  • Collaborates with the team as needed with acquisition tracking and integration, focusing on financial systems and data conversion to ensure accuracy and efficiency in the process.  
  • Prepares and assists with region level Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls. 
  • Understands the software systems used to enable efficient billing processes and ability to locate information upon request of the customer and/or other departments.   
  • Creates and presents Proformas when requested by managers to analyze profitability before, during and after the initial set-up of accounts. 
  • Assists divisions with large account profitability analysis to decrease the chance of inaccuracy.  
  • Reports, analyzes, and interprets complex financial and operating data for the assigned area, including cost analysis, market niche reporting, profitability analysis, regional geographic performance assessment, pricing analysis, cost-volume-process analysis and any other analysis pertaining to the interest of management.  
  • Assists as needed in preparing budgets and forecasts with reviews to ensure accuracy. 
  • Participates in the preparation and compilation of financial plans, including division specific modeling, graphic presentation of both operating and financial data to enhance management's ability to plan and monitor the key factors that management uses track performance. 
  • Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales, and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values. 

Career Path Definitions & Distinctions:

Financial Analyst: Has 2-5 years of progressively complex experience in the finance industry or accounting track with advanced financial analysis and reporting responsibilities. Possesses a solid working knowledge of financial procedures and regulations. Assists in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, or annual financial statements.  

 

Sr. Financial Analyst: Has 5+ years of progressively complex experience in the finance industry or accounting track with advanced financial analysis and reporting responsibilities. Possesses a high level of knowledge of financial procedures and regulations. Provides guidance, coaching, and mentoring to others at division level.  

Education, Experience & Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, statistics, or business administration and 2-4 years of progressive financial work experience. The incumbent must have effective project leadership to balance data gathering while working with key staff to complete critical business projects and a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment.

Excellent verbal, written, analytical, and formal presentation skills, an ability to multitask and meet consistent deadlines, and excellent time management and organizational ability are required. Exceptional computer and financial modeling experience, along with strong leadership and interpersonal skills, are expected.
