Position Summary

The Vendor Relations Specialist plays a critical role in strengthening the partnership between Casella and its network of vendors. This role ensures that all third-party service providers consistently deliver high-quality services aligned with environmental regulations, safety standards, and sustainability goals. By proactively managing vendor compliance with contractual obligations and industry-specific requirements to mitigate operational risks, enhance service reliability, and foster long-term collaboration.  

 

Pay range: $23.00-$25.00 per hour, depending on experience. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collects, maintains, and tracks vendor documentation, including contracts, certifications, and licenses. 
  • Risk mitigation by working with vendors and end sites on up-to-date Certificates of Insurance (COIs).  
  • Effectively communicates with vendors and end sites to track, collect, and verify vendors' Certificates of Destruction/Recycling (CODs) and send to Casella’s customers promptly. 
  • Assists in the onboarding of new vendors by verifying that all legal, financial, and operational requirements are met, and ensures all vendors comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements during the onboarding process.  
  • Investigates and resolves vendor compliance issues or discrepancies, working with cross-functional teams to find solutions.  
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for vendors regarding compliance-related matters and communicates compliance requirements and updates to vendors, providing education and support as necessary.  
  • Works with Account Managers (AM Team), Client Services, Billing, and Sourcing Team to identify potential vendor requirements. 
  • Maintains positive and proactive relationships with vendors to promote long-term partnerships and compliance adherence. 
  • Collaborate with the Account Manager, Sourcing Manager/Team, and vendor to establish a Master Service Agreement (MSA) and/or vendor agreements. 
  • Participate in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company and its products and services, and perform any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values. 

Education, Experience & Qualifications

Candidates must possess excellent relationship management, listening, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to identify new and creative solutions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong typing skills are required. Applicants should demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team. A high school diploma or GED is required. Prior experience in a business or office setting is desirable, as is an interest or background in the environmental and/or sustainability field. All candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
